Why use bamboo?
Bamboo is one of the world’s most prolific and fastest-growing plants, and is able to reach maturity in about four years, compared to the typical 25 to 70 years for most commercial tree species.
Bamboo is nature’s most sustainable resource, is grown without pesticides or chemicals, is 100% biodegradable, and naturally regenerative. Bamboo is actually a tropical grass, with an extensive root system that sends out an average of four to six new shoots per year, naturally replenishing itself and growing to heights of 60 feet or more. Some bamboo species can grow up to 18 inches per day and can be harvested every 3 to 4 years.
Bamboo is planted and grown on family-owned farms that have been in agricultural use for generations. The kind of bamboo used for Bambeco Wipes is not the same kind of bamboo eaten by panda bears and none of the fibre comes from tropical forests.
Unlike other anti-microbial fabrics, which require a chemical treatment; bamboo fabric is naturally anti-microbial and requires no harmful chemicals. It contains an agent, “bamboo kun”, that prevents bacteria from cultivating on it.
Cloth made from bamboo fiber is 100% natural and made through a high-tech process without the addition of any chemical additives. It is 100% biodegradable and will be naturally broken down in soil by microorganisms and sunshine.

We've made Bambeco wipes as kind to your baby and the earth as possible.

Alcohol Free - When alcohol contacts the skin it removes the natural oils and dries out the skin causing irritation. Being alcohol free, our baby wipes do not remove the natural lubrication and oils from the skin which means they can be used on the most sensitive skin including eczema sufferers.

Lanolin Free - A small percentage of the population has an allergy to Lanolin so Bambeco made the decision to remove lanolin from our natural baby wipes.

Aloe Vera - Scientists have found that Aloe Vera is a diverse mixture of antibiotic, astringent pain inhibitor, cell growth stimulator, and scar inhibitor. It is used externally to treat burns, scalds, eczema, acne, stings, scrapes and abrasions.

Tea Tree Extract - Used for centuries to treat acne, athletes foot, insect bites, nappy rash, spots, cold sores and blisters. Tea tree oil has probably had more scientific and medical research undertaken than any other essential oil. It has been found that the oil is remarkably potent against strains of bacteria as an antiseptic healer.

Purified and De-ionised Water - The water goes through a five filter process before being used in the wipes to remove the chemicals and minerals from the water that can be just as harmful to nappy rash and skin irritation as alcohol.

Glycerin - Used as a moistener and is made from natural animal fats and oils.  It soothes and cleans the skin and is derived from vegetable oil.

Peg-40 Hydrogenated Caster Oil - A surfactant and powerful solubiliser derived from the seed of the caster oil plant.

Potassium Sorbate - Used as broad-range preservative with anti-microbial properties.

Sodium Benzoate - Used as broad-range preservative with anti-microbial properties.

Tocopheryl Acetate - Commonly known as Vitamin E, it is a natural preservative, anti-oxident and moisturiser.

Citric Acid - provides stability and pH balance

Quality Cloth – High quality bamboo cloth, 45gsm, which is softer and stronger than most leading brands. Made from USDA certified bamboo.

Aromatherapy Oils – A unique combination which means no perfume on sensitive skin. Chamomile, lavender and lemon.
