Sterilising Baby Bottles

Early on in a baby’s life most are susceptible to types of bacteria and viruses, sterilising you baby bottles and teats will help to negate this.

Boiling Methods

If you choose to use this method of sterilising you must boil for at least 10 minutes as this is usually the safe amount of time it takes to kill bacteria. Please note that this method tends to wear out your baby bottles and teats slightly quicker than with other methods of sterilising your baby bottles.

Steaming

Steaming is very quick and efficient. Steam sterilising usually takes around 12 minutes and can be done by most microwaves with the right equipment – the Avent Microwave Steriliser is the most common and trusted on the market.
