Although latex is softer and thus perhaps easier for a newborn to use it will break down and there are perhaps safety concerns regarding latex. - Note the different nipple shapes and features available: preemie, round top, orthodontic, flat-topped, traditional, nipples that elongate, and one-piece nipple and collar sets
- When starting out with a baby bottle always use a slow flow teat, you could try a variable flow teat when your baby has become and expert on the bottle
